The Bronica is Back!

Oh yes its back. After some time in the repair shop I've finally got the Bronica in my hands. Oh how I love it. Oh how it was worth every single penny. The fiddling, the metering the light, the loud click as the shutter plane moves. I must thank Adam again for insisting I get it. So the following are a few shots around the house and backyard where I've tested the camera with two rolls to get used to the drastically different way of shooting that is medium format. And a couple of regular 35mm at the bottom thrown in for good measure.

Test rolls for new cameras

So I had a moment with an intense desire to stop using half-frames and my point-and-shoot Leica (as much as I love them) and do some work where I take charge of focus. My Pentax unfortunately gave up the ghost in between college and now so I had to hit ebay. Whilst there, I stumbled across a cheap Bronica SQ and Adam talked me in to getting that too... So below are the test rolls - the ones you shoot in the backyard to make sure the camera works before leaving glowing ebay feedback. The Bronica unfortunately only shot four of the twelve frames so I'm going to take it to be serviced tomorrow. But I was particularly happy with those four frames.

Of course, given I had to test the cameras quickly and given I was stuck in the house the subject is of course the kidlet. I know, I know, you are all a little over pictures of my kidlet but being semi-housebound with a newborn and generally pretty exhausted most of the time, the kidlet is about the only thing I see to take snaps of right now. That will change I'm sure (my fingers and toes are crossed - but that said, they are going to have a pretty extensive documentation of their formative years to look back on).

Bronica SQ first and then the Pentax KX after.
